  • Fees are based on a standard 50-minute session.

The recommended fee set by the Australian Association of Psychologists (APPi) is $330 for a 40-60 minute standard session.

Fees are reviewed annually in June

  • If you are referred by your doctor under a Mental Health Care Plan, you are eligible to receive a Medicare rebate of $98.95 for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. For people who meet the Medicare Safety Net threshold, the rebate will be significantly higher.

Fee breakdown: $250/session fee less rebate ($98.95) = out of pocket cost of $151.05.

Medicare rebates are revised and increased occasionally

  • If you have private health insurance, your plan may include counselling as part of extras cover. It is encouraged that you check with your insurer to confirm rebate amounts. Please note that Medicare and private health insurance rebates cannot be claimed for the same session.
