Hello there and thank you for visiting my page. My name is Helen and I am a Psychologist.

Over the last 15 years, I have worked in many complex environments including the Government sector (prisons and corrective services), for-purpose organisations (community mental health), private (legal services in motor vehicle accident claims) and tertiary (university student wellbeing). In all of these experiences, I have noticed the widespread impact of mental health and how it can be extremely challenging, isolating, stigmatised and traumatic.

I've been privileged to form deep, meaningful connections with people, requiring both vulnerability and genuine courage. Each person is unique in their experiences, hopes, and challenges, but we all share a common desire: to be seen and to belong. We long to be recognised and accepted for who we truly are, both by others and ourselves.

The therapeutic relationship is something I deeply cherish. I understand how difficult it can be to show up for therapy, and I prioritise making you feel comfortable. My approach is warm and light-hearted, aiming to put you at ease as you grow in self-awareness. My approach is based on self-determination, providing you with the skills to manage your situation, to foster hope, and highlight the options in your choices.

I am honoured to be entrusted with insights into your life, learning about your strengths, challenges, and motivations. My role is to help you recognise patterns in your behaviour and thinking, offering stability, trust, and safety as you share your internal world.

On a personal level, I am a second-generation Vietnamese Australian, born in Melbourne. Brisbane will always be my home as I have lived here for most my life.

I have learned and recognised the need to ‘fill my own cup’ and try to have routine and intentional downtime activities to unwind. A sustainable life is important to me. I strive to regularly reflect on the holisticness of my life as it is all a balancing game of work, relationships, health and personal fulfilment. When I am not at work, you will find me spending time in nature, exercising, reading, having brunch, laughing with loved ones, and having endless playtime with my Golden Retriever, Benji.
